About Us

Our Story
A nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization, Helping Those in Need (HTIN) started with a vision to empower those in need of healthcare and provide opportunities for a better living style. A group of dedicated healthcare workers and doctor's felt drawn to empower those in need within the underserved community of third world countries and founded HTIN to accomplish that. Since then, Helping Those in Need has provided volunteer medical missions and medical education for over a decade. We have brought together physicians and healthcare volunteers to provide primary and advanced specialty healthcare to people throughout the world. Our goal is to provide healthcare that is immediate and sustainable through the recognition of current resources and future needs. Utilizing faculty, residents, medical students, nurses, medical assistants, operating room personnel, and therapists from the United States and abroad, we provide primary care, including pediatrics and obstetrics, to advanced specialty care including microvascular and skull base neurosurgery. We tailor our assistance to the resources available at the healthcare site and local healthcare needs. We have the ability to bring medical equipment and supplies but recognize that utilizing local resources helps both the patients and the local economy. This vision has become reality with colleagues like Dr. King who have worked along side our dedicated volunteers since the beginning and are the heart and soul of our organization; making a difference in the lives of countless individuals. We hope that you join us in this great vision to provide essential and Neurosurgical care to those in need.
